Imperial Star Solar is proud to announce that Phase One of our Houston facility is not only up and running—it’s already shipping top-tier solar modules at a robust 2 gigawatts (GW) capacity. This achievement marks a significant step forward in our mission to deliver reliable, American-made solar solutions.

But our vision reaches even further. By 2026, we will expand our manufacturing footprint to 4 GW, doubling our output and reinforcing our commitment to the long-term growth of the solar industry. This expansion is a clear signal of our dedication to innovation, quality, and sustainability—ensuring that Imperial Star Solar remains a trusted partner for years to come.

Experience the future of solar manufacturing firsthand with our new Manufacturing video, highlighting the technology and teamwork that make it all possible.

Insights from the Heart of Solar Innovation: PV ModuleTech USA 2025

Last week, our team joined more than 250 solar leaders at PV ModuleTech USA in Napa, California. The event was packed with forward-looking discussions on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of solar energy.

A key theme was the evolving U.S. solar policy environment. While experts debated potential scenarios, the consensus was clear: adaptability and preparation are essential for continued success. Other hot topics included:

  • Weathering the Storm: Innovations in Solar Module Protection: NREL’s latest findings on glass durability and hail impact sparked lively debate, with new glass and module designs emerging to boost reliability.

  • Worldwide Solar Surge: Key Markets to Watch: Discussions covered China’s expected rebound, India’s growing market, and the need for stable U.S. policies. The MENA region—including Turkey—was highlighted as a new frontier, with new manufacturing plants announced in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Ghana.

  • Empowering American Solar: Chris Lettman, our Director of Sales and Partnerships, shared how we’re leveraging over a decade of Tier 1 manufacturing expertise as we launch our own Houston-based brand. Chris highlighted the strength of our fully integrated supply chain—spanning from upstream wafer and cell production through to module assembly—all engineered to deliver unmatched reliability, scale, and transparency. He showcased the impressive output of our Tomball factory, which is already producing over 8,000 modules per day, and outlined our plans to expand to a 4 gigawatt capacity by 2026. To further support our customers in navigating evolving U.S. solar policy, Chris introduced the “DomesticIQ” calculator—an innovative tool designed to simplify decision making with domestic content requirements, empowering our partners with confidence and clarity.
